Energy Day 2012

  • • On July 3, 2012, the “Energy Day”, an International Conference organized by Laub & Quijandría, Consultants and Lawyers took place with the sponsorship of the sector’s leading companies and the attendance of the private companies and government representatives.

    This Conference program had four sessions and the participation of national and international speakers and panelists who provided their points of view regarding the sector progress, advances and challenges.

    This first Congress had 4 sessions that addressed the following subjects:

    • Session I: Energy Policy
    • Session II: Natural Gas
    • Session III: Electricity
    • Session IV: Hydrocarbons

     

    Chakib Khelil,ex president of OPEC Keynote Speaker.  His speech was about the mid-term situation and perspective of oil and natural gas markets.
     

    Opening

    The Eng. Jaime Quijandría,, main partner of Laub & Quijandría Consultants and Lawyers, was in charge of the Opening Ceremony. He spoke about the importance of planning for timely identification of problems such as reaching consensus. He also announced that L&Q will organized the “Energy Day” every year in order to improve dialogue, understanding and preparation of agreements among the most important parties of the sector. He revealed that for the coming year, there should be included a Session related to Renewable Energies.

     

    Closing Ceremony

    The Ing. Luis Ortigas, Vice Minister of Energy, closed the event with an important announcement; he infomed that the group he has chaired is working to reduce deadlines of different procedures required to obtain the respective authorizations in order to expedite the development of activities of the contractors
